For only the second time in its history, the Finale
des Jeux de l'Acadie will take place in Nova Scotia! From June 29
to July 3, 2012, the Municipality of Argyle, in Southwest Nova
Scotia, will host the largest gathering
of young Acadian and
Francophone athletes (almost 1100) in the
Atlantic Provinces.
The first Acadian Games were held in 1979 to promote
the initiation and participation in youth sport in the
Maritimes. Its goal was to promote the management of
sports, the promotion of the French culture and the development of
leadership and sports facilities. This is the positive
image that we want to associate you with.
In June, the eyes will be on the Acadian and
Francophone community of Argyle, giving us the opportunity to show
our hospitality, our know-how and Francophone culture.
The organizing committee of the 33rd Finale des Jeux de
l'Acadie invites you, as a volunteer, to support the Acadian and
Francophone youth in the Atlantic region by participating in this
celebration.
There is no age to volunteer. Young and
old alike can find their niche in the Games. Families,
social organizations, businesses as well as individuals can give
their time to work in one of the many activities that are part of
the Games.
If you can give a few hours of your time
during the Games, or just help organize them, simply fill out the
form below.
Not only will the young Acadian and Francophone
Atlantic greatly appreciate your support, but it would also be an
opportunity to see friends and create new friendships.
We seek to build a team of about 1000 volunteers.
The challenge is great, but we are confident that we
willallemerge
from this experience of a life time, proud to have contributed to
the success of this great event which has been promoting the
development of the Acadian culture and sports
for 32 years!
For this, we say
THANK YOU!
We are looking forward to meeting and working with
you!
